Adler's Grand-Blossom - Detail ©1999
Falconer/Gunasegaram
24" x 36" acrylic and inks on Japanese rice paper
I was sitting on the floor of my studio at Indian Orchards,
Pennsylvania, USA, putting the "final
touches" on this painting. The image is one of a
grandmother, wrapped
in her comfortable shawl, carrying her grand-child on her
right shoulder.
Only the baby's head appears in this painting I was doing -
when
the telephone rang. It was my friend Beverly Adler

- telephoning to share her incredible joy. She had
learned a few minutes prior that her
daughter-in-law in Florida was pregnant with her very first
grand-baby.
Naturally, this painting belongs to Beverly Adler
